The Bulldogs NYC side produced a spirited comeback, defeating the Broncos 30-28 at Suncorp Stadium.

A match where the true definition was a game of two halves. The first half was all the Broncos, with the home side going to the half-time break leading 22-10.

The scoreboard was ticking over at more than a point a minute with four tries being scored in the opening 24 minutes. Winger David Fauid, halfback Gerome Burns, back rower Jayden Su’a and hooker Kalolo Saitaua were the scorers and all but one were converted.

The pups were able to claw back to 22-10 at the break with Jason Finau and hooker Joseph Tramontana crossing the stripe. Five-eighth Adam Keighran could only convert one of the tries.

After the break the Broncos got their game back on track with a further two tries being scored. Keegan Hipgrave and Corey Allan registered the four-pointers with neither of them being converted.

The Broncos did benefit from both Jerry Leasi and Peter Tiatia being sent to the sin-bin for separate incidents, leaving the visitors down to 11 men for a short period.

A spirited period of play in the closing 20 minutes from the pups saw them score four tries. Finau scored a further two tries to register his hat-trick, Bailey Simonsson went over and Jerry Leasi rounded out the tries, putting the Bulldogs in front 30-28.

A frantic finish saw the pups hold on for what may well be their most satisfying victory of the season.
