As part of the development of the younger squad members at the club, the Bulldogs staff have put together a program that will help these kids adapt to the change in their life and for some of them, living in the big smoke.

Last week saw 11 boys from the Holden Cup side attend their second cooking class for the year. Most of the boys who attended are living in the group homes provided by the club and the skills they are learning are essential for them to be able to live a healthy lifestyle and continue their development as rugby league players.  This was another chance to put the skills they learnt in their previous experience to test and hopefully acquire some new knowledge.

The boys were hosted by the Canterbury League Club and were given full access to the Flame Restaurant kitchen. Wayne Nolland, the General Manager for Food & Beverage at the League Club ran through some quick tips for the night and then threw the boys straight into the kitchen where they were accompanied by two chefs.

The menu for the evening was:

- Bolognaise with farfalle pasta

- Greek salad

- Carbonara pasta bake

- Roasted vegetables

- Apple crumble

Overall the boys were outstanding with a couple of them really excelling. Each player was given separate tasks to do like frying, slicing, peeling and baking. They then would rotate from dish to dish so they all were given a chance to experience different techniques and methods in the kitchen.

The Football Club would like to thank Canterbury League Club for hosting the night and the boys really look forward to another lesson in the coming weeks.
