Centre Josh Morris joined Terry Kennedy and Michael Slater on Thursday morning on the Big Sports Breakfast show to discuss a number of issues surrounding the NRL and the Bulldogs at the moment.
What are your thoughts on the NRL bunker?
“It seems to be in the spotlight a big lately and I think we have had a few calls that haven’t gone our way, but they’re under a fair bit of pressure and they can only do as best as they can. The fans are the ones that get the angriest with it, not the players.”
How did you see the performance against the Cowboys?
“We definitely didn’t see that one coming. I guess you could say that we were exceptionally bad and they were exceptionally good. We definitely learnt a lot of lessons out of that game and when you lose a game like that, you just want to get out on the field straight away and prove that it wasn’t up to your standards. The performance wasn’t a true reflection of how we can play.”
How do you see your season performance and would you like to see a bit more ball?
“You would like to see a bit more ball, but I feel like my attack has been really good and I feel dangerous with ball in hand. Hopefully I can cross the strip against the old club this week.”
Has the return of your twin brother Brett impressed you?
“It’s a full credit to him and the rehab staff and the conditioning staff to get him in the best shape possible so it didn’t ;look like he missed a beat. He certainly knows how to turn half a chance into a try.”
How has Des been this week after the loss to the Cowboys?
“Des is very critical in his analysis of the performance and he has spoken this week about showing a bit more respect for the ball and there has big a big focus on defence as well after having seven tries scored against us last week.”
How do you see the Dragons at the moment?
“It’s definitely a dangerous game. Every game I’ve played against them has been tough and both teams always go out there, wanting to win. We’re certainly expecting a big game from the Dragons this week.”
