Skipper James Graham today fronted the media to discuss a number of issues ahead of the Broncos clash at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.
How important is a bye?
“It’s a luxury really. At different times we have approached it in different ways. There have been times where it has been a recap of a pre-season, but this year we had a couple of days off to recharge the batteries.”
How important was the win over the Dragons?
“It was pretty important to us, especially coming off the back of two defeats the previous fortnight.“
What stood out against the Dragons?
“The information coming from the staff about what the back five did was pretty impressive. It was very much a collective group effort and that’s how we have to play, if we want to go far in this competition and keep on improving. It’s going to be a team effort to get to where we want to be.”
What was the difference between the Sharks and Dragons game?
“The approach after the Sharks game was one of disappointment. Anytime you lose a game of rugby league in the last minute, it’s obviously very disappointing. We were determined to come back and get the win after that.”
How important is the Broncos game?
“It’s massive! Win or lose, I don’t think it’s going to define our season necessarily. A win would be better than a loss.”
What did you make of Tony Williams' return?
“He was outstanding against the Dragons. He was highly motivated to come back and show the boys what we have been missing. He really rolled back the years and got back to his best. Performances like that are going to stand him in good stead to be playing week in and week out. If he continues to play like that, than we’re a better side with him in the team doing that sort of stuff.”
