Chief Executive Raelene Castle has today applauded the Federal Labor Government’s promise that if elected, the Stage 2 development of Belmore will go ahead.
Previously the now Federal opposition had promised $4 million for the development but only if the NSW State Government matched that amount. Until now, the state have not been able to come up with the funds but to have Mr Anthony Albanese MP and local MP Mr Tony Burke at Belmore today to announce that the full $8 million will be guaranteed, if elected, was pleasing for the Chief Executive.
“Stage one was complete from the Federal Government at the time and we’ve been working with the State Government,” Castle said. It’s good to heat that if elected, we know that stage two developments will move forward which would be an amazing achievement for the Canterbury-Bankstown district and the community.
“We’re the two most multicultural suburbs in Sydney, so to be able to bring those cultures together, celebrate and make sure there is somewhere for them to gather for all community activities would be great. This facility will tick all of those boxes.”
