Craig Garvey has spoken with the media ahead of the round 11 clash with the Roosters to discuss his new role within the side.

Garvey may have only played 14 minutes from the bench in round 10 but the livewire hooker did make an immediate impact, with a try and a post try celebration.

The Indigenous All Star will once again be looking to provide impact this weekend in whatever role Coach Des Hasler wants from him.

“I’ve been hanging around the top 18 and I’m just happy to be there,” Garvey said. “Whatever role he wants from me, I’m ready to do.

“I’m just happy to be in the 17 and try to cement a spot there. As long as he puts me in there, I’m happy.”

In years gone by, the Bulldogs have often gone with four forwards on the bench, but with the drop in interchange from ten to eight, the Bulldogs have seen the benefits of having someone of Garvey’s calibre to fill the utility role on the bench.

“I feel good with every game I’ve played. I feel confident that I am getting better and better with the team.

“It’s a good opportunity I have here and Des is putting me in the team a lot, so I’m happy that I am in the 17 at the moment.”

The Bulldogs sit in fifth position and head to ANZ Stadium on Sunday to tackle a desperate Roosters outfit.

The boys from Belmore have produced some impressive wins in 2016, but have also delivered mixed results along the way and while the side is after that consistency in their performances, Garvey believes, if the side can nail the little things, than the results will fall their way.

“Our main concern at the moment is that we are slipping in and out of games at the moment. We’re not far off, but we need to nail the little things.”

Bulldogs Members & Fans, get excited! On Sunday, May 22 we return to ANZ Stadium to take on the Sydney Roosters in a Sunday afternoon showdown.

Off the field, the Bulldogs are holding the inaugural TAILGATE PARTY from 12:30pm, thanks to Nathans Hotdogs, complete with boot parties, cheerleaders, a marching band, Bulldogs alumni and a live broadcast from the team over at Triple M.
