After a disappointing loss to Canberra in the heartland of Belmore on Monday night, centre Josh Morris is keen to improve on that performance and come away with a win against the Storm next Monday.

Josh was less than impressed with his own efforts against the Raiders.

“It’s probably the worst I’ve played in a long time,” Morris said.

He believes the loss came down to lack of energy and too many errors, which is something the team will be working hard on before they head to Melbourne.

“We’ve got two away games coming up and they are both tough opponents so we’ve got to fix it quick.”

However, personally Josh isn’t looking too far ahead.

“For myself, after having a bad game, it’s just about getting back on track, the old cliché, one week at a time.”

He’s happy to leave Monday night’s performance behind and focus on the week ahead.

“Video is done and dusted, I can now move onto quality opposition in the Storm.”

Understandably, the team weren’t happy with the end result, however Josh was able to pick out some positives from the performance.

“Our defence was probably better this week than what it was against the Rabbitohs when we put on a bigger score,” he believes.

Consistency is the key for the Bulldogs, who want to reclaim their spot at the top of the table.

“We don’t want to go win, loss, win, loss. We need to get that consistency and start stringing wins together,” said Josh.

With the Australian Test squad due to be named in a matter of weeks, Josh will be looking to prove himself against fellow test hopeful and Melbourne Storm centre Will Chambers.

“I always enjoy playing against Will, he’s up there with the best and certainly brings a lot to the Melbourne side, so it’s definitely going to be a good clash.”
