Bulldogs centre Chase Stanley will be working over time this week with the physio staff to get himself right for Thursday's clash with the Panthers.

Stanley left the field early in the second half against the Sea Eagles with a minor hamstring injury and failed to return to the field.

Stanley has been hampered by injuries throughout his career and while the latest is not too serious, coming from the field and resting up was the best thing for him.

“It was just a little hammy strain,” said Stanley.

“Nothing too serious, but thought I would rest it up after talking to staff at half-time.”

The Bulldogs have only six days to prepare for the second match of the 2016 season when they head west to tackle the Penrith Panthers and while the week will be a lighter one for the side, Stanley is hoping he can be right for the fixture.

“I’m working with the physio team and we will see how it goes.

“There is not much training on a short turnaround, so that’s a positive. I’ve got a couple of days to sort it out.

“It’s only early in the season so I don’t want to push things too far and do more damage to it.”
