The round 1 KIA play of the week is the Will Hopoate try in the 15th minute against the Manly Sea Eagles.

Bulldogs.com.au selected three plays from the opening round and put it to a vote for our members to select their favourite play.

The three plays selected were Josh Morris' 100th NRL try, Sam Kasiano's try and Will Hopoate's first try in Bulldogs colours.

The final verdict saw the members vote for Will Hopoate's try as their favourite play with 53% of the votes and the new recruit's try is the winner this week.

An error from Sea Eagles winger Brayden Wiliame 10 metres out from his own line put the Dogs in good territory once again.

It allowed Will Hopoate to touch down inches within the deal ball line off a Reynolds grubber in the 15th minute.

Hopate playing his first game for the Bulldogs and shifting to fullback after the injury to Brett Morris was very impressive in his first outing and received a huge pat on the back from Coach Des Hasler.

"I thought Will Hopoate was really solid at the back, he was particularly strong," said Hasler.

HOPOATE STATS:

- 12 runs, 90m, 2 tackles, 1 try
