A suspected ACL injury to Manly hooker Jayden Hodges has continued a horror run for Trent Barrett's men in a game the Dogs edged 14-8.
The result means the Warriors need to beat Brisbane to join Manly in the quarters, otherwise Manly and Canterbury progress.
After a few back and forth sets to start the game a long cut-out sent Dogs youngster Jarrod McInally over for a 6-0 lead before Tony Satini returned fire with a try in the corner. Strong defence looked to have denied Tyrone Phillips but the young Bulldog showed great determination to plant the ball down inside the corner post.
Manly's injury woes got even worse when Jayden Hodges' right knee buckled underneath him with no defenders near him and he had to be assisted from the field leaving the ravaged squad with just 13 fit players.
Phillips streaked down the right touch line and looked to have his second right on half-time but a brilliant covering tackle from Brayden Wiliame coming across pushed him into touch leaving it at 10-4 at half time.
Good Manly defence denied a Craig Garvey dummy-half scoot before Tom Trbojevic trapped a Dogs grubber to ease the pressure on his side. A Tony Williams stripping penalty piggy-backed Manly downfield before a quality Matt Parcell run set the scene for Wof Lavaka to glide over out wide.
Dane Chisholm grubbered ahead for himself right on full-time to seal the deal at 14-8.
