Bulldogs.com.au chats with rookie and local junior Jayden Okunbor as he prepares for a pre-season with the NRL squad.

Local junior Jayden Okunbor has joined the NRL squad over the summer for the 2016 pre-season and he couldn’t be happier.

“Growing up in Bankstown, being a local junior and now mixing it with the NRL squad, is a dream come true.” Okunbor said.

Okunbor, who was schooled at Picnic Point High School, started the 2015 season with the Bulldogs SG Ball side, before being elevated to the NYC team where he played four games and scored six tries.

The 18 year old outside back who tips the scales at 107kg and stands a whopping 194cm will join the NRL squad over the summer and complete one of the toughest pre-seasons to date.

“To have the opportunity to work with Des and the other Coaches, is a dream come true,” said Okunbor.

“It’s going to be the hardest thing I have done, but if I give 100 per cent, it’s what Des ask for and it’s all that I can expect to do.”

Off the field Okunbor has undertaken studies in the areas of diadvantaged youth welfare and spends his days working with disabled kids in the local area.
