Fullback Brett Morris has fronted the media ahead of the Knights clash this week and spoken about the Bulldogs form and the wonderful job the forward pack is doing.
The Bulldogs have now won three in a row, including two great victories over two of the heavy weights in the competition and a big part of the side’s recent success has been the performance and domination of the Bulldogs forward pack.
“At the moment the footy they’re playing is really good,” said Morris.
“They are choosing the right time to offload, the right time to tuck it under their wing and run hard.
“Sammy Kasiano, Franky, Beast (Eastwood) – they’re all playing great footy and I think everybody is jumping on the back of them.”
The Bulldogs sounded a warning to every side above them on the ladder with a powerful and clinical 32-18 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs in round 24.
The win helps the Bulldogs continue their march towards a finals berth and keeps them in with an outside chance of scraping into the top four and while there is still room for improvement, Morris believes the footy the Bulldogs are playing is exciting and has given the playing squad a sense of belief with the finals just around the corner.
“We’re playing some good footy at the moment and there are places we can get better in and there’s always improvement in the side.
“The boys are starting to play some real good footy and scoring some nice tries and that’s the most pleasing thing.
“Our for and against is starting to look better than it was.”
The Bulldogs will this weekend head to Newcastle to face a side coming off the back of two good victories, say farewell to one of the greats and celebrate their past players and coaches.
The Knights have won 12 of their last 15 old boys day dating back to 2000 and although outsiders believe the Bulldogs should win, Morris knows they’re a side to not take lightly.
“We have to keep on improving. Newcastle at home is never an easy task. They always step up when they play at home and we’re definitely going to have our hands full.
“We’re not taking this game lightly at all.”
