St George Illawarra Dragons will come into the round 13 clash with the Bulldogs with plenty of confidence after a dominant display against the Cronulla Sharks.

Dragons sit at the top of the NRL ladder and after a shaky start to the 2015 season, the red v have shown everyone what they are capable of.

A big part to their success has been the halves pairing of Benji Marshall and Gareth Widdop, who have led from the front and played a crucial role in a number of the Dragons wins.

The half-back returned to the NRL in 2014 after a short stint with the Auckland Blues in the super 15 and has been at the top of his game in 2015.

”Our confidence is definitely growing and when you start building that confidence within yourself and your ability, things are more likely to work out for you on the field,” Marshall told dragons.com.au

He was superb against the Bulldogs in round six and for Marshall, he believes the Dragons completion rate and good kicking game needs to be their focus on Monday.

“Our completion rate will be the key against the Bulldogs, every game we’ve completed over 85% we’ve gone on to win so holding onto the ball goes a long way towards winning those games.

“They’ve got a very big forward pack as well which we’re going to have to try and turn around with a good kicking game and if we can turn up with the same attitude and intent in defence we have had the last nine weeks, it’ll go a long way towards us winning,” Marshall said.

Dragons will be looking to make it three wins in a row, while the Bulldogs will be looking to build on their win against the Raiders when the two sides meet at ANZ Stadium on Monday, June 8.
