Josh Morris returns to the field this weekend after three weeks on the sideline with an ankle injury and he spoke with the media during the week about the injury, Origin, his brother Brett and the upcoming match with the Cowboys.

It’s been a frustrating three weeks for Morris with the ankle injury, but the centre has assured everyone he is ready to go.

“I’m feeling good,” said Morris. “Having the rep round off certainly helped get the ankle right, so I will be right to go on Saturday.”

The Bulldogs will go into the Round 9 fixture against the Cowboys with four wins and four losses next to their name, while their opposition, the Cowboys have been one of the form teams of the competition in recent weeks and with origin just around the corner, Morris is well aware of what the team needs to do.

“We are sitting at four (wins) and four (losses). We need to start winning games especially coming into the origin series. We need to kick start that on Saturday night.

“We love going up to Townsville. We love playing their and it’s always a tough game, so we are not expecting anything less.”

Josh has not been the only Morris sidelined through injury, with brother Brett hampered by a hamstring injury he sustained against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 5 which is expected to keep him out for 2-3 months, but twin brother Josh is confident he can be back earlier than expected.

“It is coming along well and I think they are ahead of schedule, but how far, I’m not sure,” said Morris.
