The Canterbury Bulldogs NYC side looks to upset the Cowboys this weekend when they battle at ANZ Stadium.
The Dogs went down in similar circumstances to first grade last Sunday, losing 42-10 to the 3rd placed Holden Cup side, the Wests Tigers.
Down at Remondis Stadium on Friday night in awful conditions, the Cowboys lost a thriller by 2 points, 24-22.
Two sides that have struggled with form this year, the Cowboys and Dogs both losing their last 5 straight and with poor for and against differential, it has been a disappointing season for both.
Both teams want to avoid the wooden spoon, especially the Bulldogs who have been extremely strong in the NYC competition over the last few years.
They’ve been Minor Premiers and played in Preliminary Finals, yet never reached the Grand Final. Season 2015 should be in the minds of Bulldogs pups that are returning, in what is a very young side.
Canterbury forward Chris McGill picked up a grade one medial knee injury and is in a brace this week.
“So he’ll obviously miss this week, he’s in a brace at the moment, but shouldn’t limit him much more than that,” said head Physiotherapist at the Bulldogs, Steve McCullagh.
