My entire family and I have been huge fans of the Bulldog’s ever since I can remember, so having being given the opportunity to become a member of the Sapphires has definitely been the highlight of my year. I can honestly say, my experience with the club has been second to none and I’m excited to see what the rest of the season has in store.

Being one of the newer members, it was safe to say I was nervous about what to expect, not to mention meeting the Squad. Thankfully I was accompanied by another new member, Madi, which calmed my nerves a little. After meeting the team I soon realized that all my nerves were for nothing, everyone was so welcoming and made me feel at home right away.

My first experience as a Sapphire member came in the form of an induction day; Madi and I were introduced to Darcie and Dom, alongside others who work behind the scenes. It was here we received our uniforms- something that I had been looking forward to.  After making sure everything was in order, we were introduced to Zappa who readied us to face the camera for our introductions. Having Dom and Darcie there was such a massive help; they put us at ease, helped calm our nerves and helped us laugh through the bloopers.

After leaving Bulldog HQ I literally couldn’t wait for the next few weeks to pass before it was my first game as a Sapphire.

Round 14 finally came round where we took on the Eels; unfortunately we didn’t get the end result we were hoping for, however I couldn’t have asked for a better welcoming. The atmosphere of the entire day was so surreal, it was such an amazing opportunity to interact with the fans and to see how passionate they were about the game and our club.

When I was given the chance to participate alongside the Bulldogs Community in the PPP4SPA charity run, I immediately thought it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Seeing the level of involvement the Bulldogs have within the community, especially towards this event was incredible and something that I was proud to be a part of.  Darcie, Dom, Lauren, Renee, Madi as well as the players and staff all made the day such an exciting event to be involved in. The whole day was inspiring, seeing everyone come together to raise awareness and support such a worthy cause made me realize how lucky I am to be involved in this great club.

Becoming a member of the Sapphire Squad, and joining the Bulldogs family has given me the opportunity to experience first hand what the club stands for. I am proud to call myself a Sapphire and am so blessed to be apart of such an amazing club.

Regaan xx
