The Bulldogs NYC side have been defeated 42-10 today by the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium.

It was seven tries to two throughout the 80 minutes with the young pups surrendering an early lead and weren’t able to get into the match after that.

There were two changes to the side with Adam Elliott playing NSW Cup and Brock Cope out of the side it was Aaron Pene and Avia Minute who were the  men to come into the 17-man squad.

The young pups were on the back foot from the outset with the home side having four sets within the 20m zone. The pressure was too much to withstand and back rower Lamar Liolevave took the ball one off the ruck and cruised through to score. Lock forward Matthew Woods had the kicking duties and converted to give the Tigers a 6-nil lead after as many minutes.

Ten minutes later the lead was extended through winger John Ogden. A shoulder charge from Jake Kamire was penalised and gave the Tigers a set inside the Bulldogs 20m zone once again. It was a smart ball from Eli Levido to Ogden with the winger crossing in the north-western corner. Woods couldn’t convert from out wide with the score now 10-nil after 15 minutes.

In the 31st minutes the Tigers were able to cross over for their third try through front rower Jordan Grant. Again it was a penalty that put the home side in good field position and whils the young pups looked to have their opposites measure, it was Grant, who from a standing start just showed great strength to bust through the front line and then dived over to score. Woods converted from just to the left of the uprights giving the Tigers a 16-nil lead.

The pain didn’t stop there for the Bulldogs with the Tiger going over for their fourth try shortly after. An error this time gifted the Tigers possession and again they made a break and on the next play a big shift to the left saw Ogden register his second in the first half. Woods couldn’t convert from out wide with the score staying at 20-nil at the half-time break.

The flow didn’t change in the second half with the Tigers running away with the match comprehensively 42-10.

Two tries in the opening 15 minutes of the half extended the lead but the Bulldogs were able to open their account in the 59th minute through Dujuan Liolevave. Brad Keighran converted making the score 32-6.

Renouf To’omaga crossed soon after but Keighran couldn’t convert leaving the score at 32-10 after 66 minutes.

The Tigers crossed for two further tries and were able to register the 42-10 win.
