Josh Jackson and Kayne Brennan paid a visit to Canterbury Hospital in late March to raise the spirits of the young and old as part of a renewed local partnership, where they uncovered an unlikely ally!
The local partnership will see Bulldogs players visiting the hospital on a frequent basis throughout the year in an effort to recognise the important role Canterbury Hospital plays in our local community and to raise morale.
Josh and Kayne spent time in the Children’s ward, followed by a visit to the adults’ ward where they came across a Rabbitohs supporter.
Despite his allegiance to the red and green Lucien was chuffed to receive a visit from the players;
Truth be known I must thank you (Canterbury Hospital), the players and the club, while not a Canterbury fan I really enjoyed the opportunity to have a chat with the guys, it really lifted my spirits not to mention offered healthy banter for all of my Canterbury friends as the pictures went viral. (I'm told it was a very popular pic on one of the Canterbury fan's forum sites.)
Please offer my personal thanks to Raelene at Canterbury, Josh & Kayne who were polite, friendly and generally seemed like great guys who represented the club in a positive manner.
While changing allegiances from my beloved Bunnies is not an option I will be following Josh & Kayne's careers with great interest from now on (feel free to let Josh know I am taking full credit for his try on the weekend as well).
