Bulldogs Walk with the RSPCA
Tuesday 30 April 2013 9:59 AM
Bulldogs RSPCA ambassador Dene Halatau, was today joined by fellow animal lovers Josh Morris and Trent Hodkinson at Wanda Beach in support of Bulldogs in the Community partner RSPCA and their upcoming Million Paws Walk fundraiser on Sunday, May 19.
Proudly joined by Jax, Wes and Kobe who were sporting their RSPCA bandannas; Dene, Josh and Trent raised their voices and spoke to the media about the important work RSPCA do and the upcoming Million Paws Walk.
“It’s important to get down to Homebush with your pet and support Million Paws Walk, said Dene Halatau.
“It is a great day with lots of things happening. I have attended with my Maltese Shiatsu, Millie the last three years, she’s not really up to the distance anymore but it is still a great day for animal lovers and boosts the reputation of the RSPCA and the good stuff they do for animals that are less fortunate than others.”
Josh Morris, long time animal lover echoes Dene’s enthusiasm for the RSPCA.
“We support a lot of important causes at the Bulldogs but this one is especially close to me, said Josh.
“The RSPCA do a lot of great things for injured animals and give away beautiful dogs like Kobe and Wes to families who really need them and will look after them.”
When asked about Wes and Kobe, Josh happily divulged that seven year old Wes was both he and twin brother Brett’s dog and is named after current Panthers player Wes Naiqama, who was Brett’s favourite player growing up; while two year old Kobe is of course named after NBA all star Kobe Bryant.
Friday’s round 8 showdown versus the Wests Tigers will highlight the RSPCA who have been important Bulldogs in the Community partners since 2009. The game will also be promoting the RSPCA’s biggest fundraiser - the 20th annual Million Paws Walk which is taking place in locations across Australia, including at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush on Sunday, May 19.
More than just a fun day out the Million Paws Walk is a chance for people to make a real difference to RSPCA animals. Registrations are open now and the Bulldogs encourage all members and supporters of rugby league to get involved, raise some money for a great cause and enjoy the day with their four legged friends.
