2012 Members Awards!

Last night, the Bulldogs most passionate supporters, our Members, got together to celebrate the success and accomplishments of the 2012 season at the annual Bulldogs Member Awards Night.

Joined by the entire playing list, Bulldogs CEO, Todd Greenberg and hosted by Darryl Brohman, Members were treated to a spectacular performance by the Belles, before the presentation of the Member Awards.

To kick off proceedings, Bulldogs Member of the Year Nominee, Sandra Coleman awarded ‘Best Hit of the Year’ to Dally M Prop of the Year, Sam Kasiano. Never one to give too much away, Kasiano was quick to thank our loyal and dedicated supporters before posing for some photos and quietly leaving the spotlight.

Next up, Bulldogs Member Steve Clima, awarded ‘Best Try of the Year’ to Australian Test representative, Josh Morris, for his spectacular try in the Round 16 match against the Storm in Mackay.

The next award, as voted by our Bulldogs Members went to an ecstatic Caterina, who took out the award for ‘Favourite Belle,’ who needed little persuasion by our host to teach the crowd to dance the latest fad, ‘Gangnam Style’

Long time Member, Ann O’Farrell was invited to the stage to present James ‘Bupa’ Graham with the award for ‘Member Rookie of the Year.’ Humble in his acceptance speech, Graham was surprised he had taken out the award with the likes of Josh Jackson and Dale Finucane also up for the honour.

After a short break, Crowd favourite and Bulldogs Captain, Michael Ennis, took to the stage to thank all of the Members for their support throughout the season and although disappointed in the result from Sunday, vowed to come back bigger and better next season.

Then it was time to announce the Bulldogs ’18 Member of the Year’ Award as voted by his fellow Members, went to a very deserving, Roy Sundborg. Although Roy couldn’t be there to accept his award, Members of the Kennel accepted on his behalf and had nothing but great things to say about the admirable Winner.

This year, we introduced a new award that reflected the latest trend to take over our Club, Social Media. The award; ‘Member Social Player of the Year’ was to be awarded to the player who was most active on Social Media. As voted by the Members, the award went to Steve ‘Zap’ Turner, in recognition for all his hard work off the field during his rehabilitation.

The final award of the night, ‘Members Player of the Year’ went to none other than crowd favourite, and the 2012 Dally M Winner, Ben Barba. The crowd were unanimous in their decision to honour Barba with this award, as evident by the level of cheering as he made his way to the stage and continued to thank everyone for voting and supporting him.

With the official part of the evening wrapped up, Members, Belles, Players and Staff took to the dance floor with the help of DeJake_Music to celebrate the winners of the evening, the season that was and brace themselves for an even bigger 2013.
