NYC Preview: Bulldogs v Dragons

This weekend the Bulldogs Holden Cup side take on the competition leaders in the Raiders. It’s a huge game for the young pup’s side as they take on a very talented side, it will be a test, but one, they all will be looking forward to.
They head into the game off a win against the Titans on Monday night and with form on the board it sure will be a great match.
They were able to score points on Monday against the Titans, but it was the lapse in concentration in the final 15 minutes, which would have disappointed Coach Andy Patmore. This is an area which must be fixed if they are to beat the Raiders, because you can’t do this to a quality side like Canberra or otherwise they will hurt you.
“It’s a massive week for us…a real good test…we need to be on our game from the get go,” said Patmore.
They travel down to Canberra on the back of a five day turn around and for the Holden Cup boys it’s an opportunity to get away for the night, as it is a 10:40am kick-off on Saturday and really prepare well. It will take a committed 80 minute performance to get the win.
“The boys were excited straight after Monday’s game…they will certainly be up and motivated come Saturday,” said Patmore.
They are building towards the finals and if there is any game or team you want to be playing, it’s Canberra. It will be a tough game, but if the Holden Cup team want to go deep into the finals then they need to perform against quality opposition.
“It’s a huge test for us and if we want to go anywhere come finals time, then we need to perform against the good sides,” said Half-back Jaelen Feeney.
It’s, one game these boy’s will no doubt be looking forward to and one I am as well. It will come down to attitude and desire and who is the hungriest to get the win. A win for the Dogs will close the gap between themselves and the Raiders who sit on top of the table.
What a challenge, but what an opportunity these players have.
