NYC Preview: Bulldogs v Broncos
Thursday 23 May 2013 10:01 AM
Last week the Holden Cup side went down to the Newcastle Knights 50-26 which has now seen the side loose three in a row.
Coach Andy Patmore said “I thought the preparation during the week was good, but on the weekend we just weren’t there.”
The side has no doubt learnt a lot about themselves and what it takes to perform at your best week in and week out, so therefore this week will be about getting back to the basics about rugby league and focus on their preparation both individually and collectively as a team.
“We need to get back to some grassroots and some basics,” said Patmore.
Rugby League just isn’t about the physical preparation, but how you prepare mentally.
With the short turnaround from last week to this week, there has been some soul searching amongst the team.
“We will get in there heads a bit and make sure we are back on track,” said Patmore.
There will be no better chance to get a win after three loses on the trot than back at home on Friday night against a quality football side in the Brisbane Broncos. They too are coming off a loss, but for the Bulldogs it will about focusing on their own game to get the result they need.
“We have to be on from the beginning…there will be some hard work during the week…hopefully be ready for Friday,” said Patmore.
It’s a great opportunity for our Under 20’s side, but one they will need to be on for.
