The Bulldogs head into this weekend’s game off the back of a good win against the Dragons and although they were behind at stages throughout the game, the attitude the boys showed, especially in the second half, spoke volumes about the playing group.
“It was great to come back from 20-8 down…the boys showed plenty of attitude in defence and attack,” said Assistant Coach Jim Dymock.
There is still plenty of improvement in the Dogs, but you can’t criticise the forward pack of late, because they have been outstanding! The return of Sam and Frank of late has really helped and when you throw in the performances of Tony Williams and Greg Eastwood, they are really working towards something.
“We have been working hard together and we are starting to show that…if we do our job, we definitely have the exciting backs to finish it off,” said Greg Eastwood.
The Job doesn’t get an easier this week for the Dogs pack, as the Titans contain a number of origin players who lead from the from the front and have really stood up this year, both at club level and throughout the origin series. It will be a test, but if they match them up the middle, it will go a long way to getting the right result.
“We need to play tough this week and match the Titans through the middle,” said Eastwood.
The Titans sit in ninth position on the ladder and there season is still well alive. They had a good win last weekend and are side capable of producing finals type footy. The Bulldogs know this is not going to be a walk in the park.
“They move the ball well, they have a great forward pack, plenty of strike across the park…they will be a test for us on Monday night,” said Skipper Michael Ennis.
No doubt the Titans will present a challenge to the Dogs, but they have won 11 out of their last 14 and pending results on the weekend the Bulldogs can certainly put themselves in a position to mount pressure on the top four.
“We just need to keep building…it will be an entertaining game on Monday night,” said Des Hasler.
A great opportunity for the Dogs on Monday night, back at home and with three players bringing up milestones there is sure plenty to play for.
Be sure to get out and support the boys on Monday night!
