NRL Preview: Bulldogs v Raiders

This weekend the Bulldogs head to Canberra to take on a desperate Raiders side and for the Dogs it will be about bouncing back from the disappointment of losing to the Titans on Monday night.
“We have to dig in deep this week, because Canberra will come out firing,” said Josh Reynolds.
It’s not an easy place to play at Canberra and after their thumping they received from the Storm two weeks ago, the Raiders will certainly come out on Saturday wanting to prove a point.
For the Dogs it will be focusing on themselves this week and doing everything right to prepare well for Canberra. No doubt they will be hurting after Monday’s loss, but they need to re-focus and control what they can control.
“It’s just not going to happen for us…we need to play for the full 80 to give ourselves the best chance to get the result we are after,” said Front-rower Aiden Tolman.
Unfortunately the side will head to Canberra minus key forwards Sam Kasiano and Greg Eastwood, but one thing is for sure and we have seen it during the year is that when players are out, the players who come into the squad do a great job and I am sure this is what both Marty Taupau and Tim Browne will do.
“The boys coming in can do a very similar job to the guys who are missing…Des gets everyone on the same page so when players are called into the team, they know what they are doing,” said Half-back Trent Hodkinson.
With the loss on Monday it definitely makes it harder for the side to finish in the top four, but they must get back on the winners circle to give themselves every chance to host a home final.
“The top four looks slim, so it’s about maintaining what we have to ensure a home final,” said Coach Des Hasler.
It will be a tough game for the Bulldogs on Saturday, but after seeing the boys in the sheds post Titans game, I know they are hurting and will want to reassure our members and fans that they are capable of producing better footy. A win is what we all want to see.
