“I thought we controlled the game for the majority of both halves…we did allow the Dragons back into the game at the end…pleased they Soward missed the conversion,” said Assistant Coach Jim Dymock
This week sees the team travel to Townsville to take on a Cowboys side who have not been performing over the past few weeks, but the side does know how well they perform back at home and in some ways their season is on the line.
They have one of the best rosters in the game, some of the best players in the game and they did beat the Bulldogs in round one.
“When you play sides under adversity they seem to rise to the occasion when they play the Bulldogs…we are coming to grips that sides get up for games against us…we know it will be a tough game,” said Coach Des Hasler
Skipper Mick Ennis also believes this game is going to be one they need to be up for.
“We are under no illusion to what we are walking into…the boys are looking forward to the challenge,” said Ennis
It has been a good period for the Bulldogs, winning five out of their past six games and with the warmer weather up north and hopefully a dry, fast track it can only help their cause to record another victory.
“Hoping we get a nice fast track up there…we need to build on what we have done over the past five to six weeks,” said Ennis.
The return of Origin players Josh Morris and Josh Reynolds will certainly add strength to the side and with the experienced they both gained from being in camp can only help their performances.
“It will be great to have them back…they are two v ery important players in our side…hoping they can perform very well against the Cowboys,” said Ennis.
It’s a huge challenge for the Bulldogs, because they are coming up against a side who have not had the best of seasons, but with the roster they have, there a side who can certainly score points and back at home they always lift.
A challenge I believe the team can over-come and in some ways a victory could almost end the Cowboys season.
I look forward to seeing the boys play and building on last weekend.
