Bulldogs in the Community – What a Year!

Bulldogs in the Community reached new heights in 2012 and with 2013 just around the corner we are energized to make our mark in our local community and abroad.

2012 was a great year for Bulldogs in the Community with the Club once again donating in excess of $1 Million in value in kind and more than $150,000 in cash to our community partners.

Our players, staff and Belles cheerleaders spent over 1500 hours working with community groups locally and internationally over the course of the year and the Club launched two new and exciting programs – School to Work and ‘Party Safe’.

2012 saw the launch of the unique ‘Shave Des’ campaign. In parting ways with his famous golden locks Des revealed his passion and community spirit, earning more than $100,000 for Camp Quality and the admiration of Bulldogs Members far and wide!

The Club headed to Wagga Wagga for our first trial versus the Raiders and spent a week in the local community as part of the NRL’s Community Carnival, visiting schools, conducting assemblies, coaching clinics and assisting with Junior League registration.

2012 also saw the Club’s first International Aid trip to Kavieng, Papua New Guinea with a number of players, staff and Club personnel embarking on an adventure, visiting local schools, conducting coaching clinics and assisting with repairs of the island’s local hospital.

Bulldogs in the Community are expecting big things in 2013, so watch this space!
